As a sports psychologist, Dr. Dave trains
professional, college, high school, and junior competitors to achieve
their potential. His consultations, to both individuals and teams,
help athletes to handle the pressure of competition, improve
concentration, develop confidence, and overcome competitive anxieties.
Dr. Dave has earned a reputation for making significant impacts and has been credited with being an instrumental part of many recent team successes. He provided mental skills training to the 2002 Princeton womens lacrosse team, winners of the Division 1 national championship. He has been associated with the schools football, baseball, softball, and womens basketball programs. He contributed to the 1999 Rutgers mens soccer squad, winners of the Big East regular season championship, and the 1997 Rutgers mens soccer team, winners of the first Big East Championship for the school in any sport.
Dr. Dave was recently appointed sport psychologist for the NY/NJ MetroStars Player Development System including the MetroStars Academy. He will be educating these athletes in life skills as well as the development of mental toughness. He will be consulting to the Olympic Program Development squads of the New Jersey Youth Soccer Organization. His column Ask Dr. Dave on the National High School Coaches Association web site addresses concerns of athletes, parents, and coaches regarding performance enhancement. Dr. Dave is a regular presenter at coaches clinics and specialty camps. His recently released CD, The Enlightened Warrior: An Athletes Guide to Winning is available. Dr. Dave received his doctorate in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. |
